In the tradition of the Chinese way of epicness Hong Kong Park has a 5 level playground carved into the side of a hill.

Fishing town of Sai Kung where you pick
The fishing town of Sai Kung, East of Kowloon, is a spectacle of all kinds of seafood delicacies that you wouldn't find at Red Lobster. Like mantis shrimp, horseshoe crabs, and all varieties of fish. You pick snd they give you a number to take to the restaurant where they'll cook it for you.

I'm such a sucker for over priced souvenirs when it comes to my daughter. At the HK Peak tram.
The HK Peak Tram is intersting in how vertical it goes. Almost a 45 degree angle up which actually felt good as gravity pulled my lower back into the seat for a nice stretch. After days of carrying Minami and her stroller, my backs been taking a beating.
The Peak, Hong Kong via tram
After unsuccessful attempts to figure out how to get a bus to stop in Hong Kong and unable to get a taxi to stop we just walked to the tram to the HK Peak. Even navigating the sidewalks were tricky because they wind like a snake with crosswalks often missing in key places.

In future Hong Kong after freezing then face removal, they sever the nasty kid's head then cauterize the stump with gold. Finally they remove the limbs.

Watami unspectacular HK style Japanese food but a parfait makes it better!
After the Giant Buddha we ate at a Japanese place called Watami which wadn't bad but certainly not inspired considering we had to wait over an hour to get a seat. But a green tea parfait will always smooth things over.
Enlightenment is just a fancy word for being tired and hungry.
As I closed my eyes before the Giant Buddah, he spoke to me and said, "my name is spelled 'Buddha' you idiot!"
Minami the strong, she climbed ALL the steps to attain enlightenment at the Giant Buddah.
There are no heights too high for Minami. She climbed all the way up to the Giant Buddah and then back down. I tried to help but she'd had to do it her way!
Gelato to beat the heat before the Giant Buddah. Lychee, strawberry, black sesame.
The hills of Lantau were a little cooler but there is just no escape from the mugginess of the HK humidity.
Cable car to the Giant Buddah
2nd day was all about the Giant Buddah. Hopped on the HK metro rail and then a glass bottom cable car into the mountains.
Party girl in Lan Kwai Fong, HK's party central
Apparently Lan Kwai Fong is the place to party for foreigners in HK. Locals and other Asian visitors come to gawk at the Western Devils getting their groove on.

Hong Kong is a steamy-hot cyberpunk dream
After a half day of gather supplies and getting to know the surrounding areas, Minami pooped out. Hong Kong is so alive and wonderous that it overloads your senses!

Good morning Hong Kong!
That urban mass of steel and concrete grumbles outside our window. You tried to rain on us and then steam cook us last night, but let's see what you really got today Hong Kong!
Seoul airport has everything
With multiple a kid's play areas to free showers to reclining movie chairs, the Seoul airport seems to have just about anything and everything.

Celebrities and the sleeping
I don't know if these Korean youngbloods are famous but the crowd was making a ruckus while Minami slept in travel bed I engineered for her.
It's the Seooooul plane!
Made it to Seoul Korea with Minami. Was thinking about making a run for the city during the 5 hour layover but Minami fell asleep and the transfer terminal is pretty impressive and cool with shops that take US dollars. And free wifi Internet!
Minami's grand mother and grand aunts in Kanazawa Japan just before lift off to Seoul Korea and the Hong Kong.

Each of these suitcases weigh pretty close to 50lbs each
A flight delay made my parents and Minami miss their connecting flight so we're stuck in Tokyo for the night.

Time to chil-LAX
Made it to LAX and met up with the folks. In my youth these mounds of suitcases full of gifts would have been an embarrassment but now I am a part of the problem.
6am, the real adventure begins to Japan and Hong Kong!
Didn't get any sleep and last night while telling a not-so-funny joke I split my toe nail open. Not good for all the walking that's ahead of us. But Minami is in a good mood.

Class project
Minami is supposed to learn these songs and the Pearly Shells dance by the time she gets back in June.
